Currant, and especially black currant, is the most important berry fruit in the world after strawberry. Due to its resistance to low temperatures, the largest production is in the countries of Central and Northern Europe. The fruit of currants, and especially black currants, has exceptional nutritional, dietary, therapeutic and technological value. It is especially rich in vitamin C and anthocyanins. While red currants are more used fresh, black currants are more used for processing. Currants contain 7 to 8 times more vitamin C than citrus. Blackcurrant juice has been found to have a beneficial effect on women during pregnancy and lactation, to help treat bleeding gums and varicose veins, improve concentration, and have a beneficial effect on the blood picture and immune system in humans.Black currant was grown in Russia in the 11th century. During the 17th century, it began to be cultivated in Europe as well. It was introduced to America in the 19th century.

The spacing of planting currant seedlings is 2-3m x 1.00 m in a row.Our seedlings of black currant, red currant and white currant are produced and grown in our nursery. We use the initial material for the production of seedlings of black currant, red currant and white currant from our parent plantations, which were planted from seedlings of black currant, red currant and white currant of the base category. The basic planting material is from leading institutes from the Netherlands, Italy and Germany. The parent plantations were planted on locations that have spatial isolation, as well as in specially protected areas, the so-called retinas that are protected with anti-insect nets. Thanks to this fact, we produce seedlings of black currant, red currant and white currant of the certified category and for seedlings we have all the certificates issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia.
