Synonyms: Fetelova, Abbe Fetel
Abbate Fettel is originally from France. It was found by the priest I’Abbe Fetel back in 1866. Today, this pear has its place in production plantations, which is still very important. The attractive elongated appearance of the fruit, as well as the organoleptic characteristics, contributed to this fact. It is extremely widespread in Italy in the Emilia Romagna area, where it even has a protected geographical origin for this variety. It is also widely represented in production plantations in Argentina.
