Apricot is a type of fruit that is used fresh also for processing. As an industrial fruit, it is widely used for the production of juices, jams, compotes, for drying and, of course, brandy. Apricot or apricot brandy is an extremely valued alcoholic drink all over the world

Apricot comes from China, where it was cultivated 5000 years ago. It was brought to Europe only in the last century of the old era. It comes from regions with long winters and a sudden transition to a warmer period without fluctuating temperatures.

Late spring frosts cause a lot of problems in apricot production. Namely, although the apricot is one of the most resistant fruit species to low temperatures, it has an extremely unstable period of ecological dormancy, and temperature fluctuations during the winter, i.e. sudden thaws cause an interruption of ecological dormacy in apricot and its premature start of growing and flowering. Young flowers freeze easily at low temperatures.

The choice of position is of great importance for growing apricot trees. The most suitable are northern or northeastern positions with the smallest temperature fluctuations. Apricot seedlings are planted at a distance of 6.00-7.00 x 4.00 – 6.00 m.Our apricot seedlings are produced and grown in our nursery. We use the starting material, bud grafts and rootstocks for the production of apricot seedlings from our mother plants, which were planted from apricot seedlings of the basic category. The basic planting material is from leading institutes from the Netherlands, Italy and Germany. The mother plants are elongated in locations that have spatial isolation, as well as in specially protected areas, so-called nethouses that are protected with anti-insect nets. Thanks to this fact, we produce apricot seedlings of the certified category and for seedlings we have all the certificates issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia.
