The Lapins variety, like the Sunburst variety, was created in Summerland, Canada, in 1965. It was created as a result of crossing the Stella x Van variety. He inherited self-fertilization from the Stella variety. It was named after the breeder who created it, dr. Carlisle O’Lapins. Lapins is resistant to fruit cracking.
