Williams can be called the “Queen of Pears”. It was created in England. She was named Bon Chretien, a good Christian, after Francis of Paolo. It was found in 1770 as a random vessel in Aldermaston, England. Some time later, the plant was taken by nurseryman Williams and he started to produce it in his nursery in England. In 1799, it was also brought to America.

Plod The fruit is medium to large, pear-shaped, slightly uneven. It is straw yellow in color.
