The Muscat Ottonel variety was created in 1852 in France. It was created by Robert Moreau, a gardener from the French city of Angers. Since it is very similar to Chasla, it is most likely that one of the parents is this variety and the other parent is the Muscat de Samuir variety. It is a Muscat variety.
